GCM offers a wide variety of guided field trips for preschool and elementary aged children.  Themes include Japanese Culture and World Culture featuring our Passport to the World exhibit and elementary science utilizing our exhibit  Science Connection.  We are currently working on field trip curriculum for our new exhibits:

Lenoardo’s Machines (DaVinci), Passages through Time (the Native American experience in Middle Georgia), and KidsTowne (civics and community).  All field trip curriculums include teacher lesson plans which meet current Georgia Performance Standards and include pre and post visit activities for classroom use.

Field Trips can be scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between the hours of 9 am and 11 am.  The guided experience typically takes about an hour and half (depending on class size).   Fees are $5 per child.  If the group has more than 20 children, teachers, parapros and parent chaperones are free.  If the group consists of less than 20 children, one teacher and one assistant are free and there is a $5 per person charge for additional adults.

We request that field trips be booked at least two weeks in advance so that we may schedule the appropriate staff.  As we only schedule one group per day, we require a signed contract and in most cases a 50% deposit.   Once we receive a signed contract, we will happily send you a copy of the GPS lesson plans for your requested curriculum.
